Fishing Reports
October 5th, Fun trip with Mark Lozier
Hit the water just after sunrise and headed to the same spot I fished with David Hrrt a few days before. Saw several yakkers on the water, and paddled past them to our spot. First cast and "BAM" fish on. Knew it was going to be a good day. Mark followed suit and landed another redfish in his first few casts. We knew it was going to be a good day!

As the water rose we headed to another favorite spot, after a few casts, I hook up and land a nice 24-inch redfish. What great weather and what great fishing. The redfish are here and the spotted trout fishing should pick up soon. Book now before the weather gets cold!

October 3rd, Fishing Lynnhaven Inlet with Outdoor Writer/ Photographer Dave Hart
Fished on friday with Dave Hart, Dave was working on a kayak fishing piece for North American Fisherman MAgazine. We made a short paddle and got on hungry reds pretty quick. Caught about 10-12 fish including a nice 25-inch bruser. Fishing for trout, redfish and flounder are getting better, but only until the water temps get cooler.

August 1st, More Lynnhaven Inlet Reds by Mark Lozier
Had the privilege of taking out the proud new owner of a Manta Ray 14 for some reds. Jason is an avid angler who has had several different makes of boats. He just recently purchased his first Native and was itching to get it broke in. We hit some usual spots in our area and moved on to find some better fish. Glad we did. Jason and I caught more over slot size fish than I have ever seen before. Fishing here has been getting better daily it seems and I know it will only improve.

July 26, 2008 Rude Inlet and Lynnhaven
Larry Routh aka Dad and VP of Ruthless Fishing Inc. visited this weekend so we decided to hit Rudee inlet for a quick fix. Got dad and his girlfriend Connie Parrish rigged up and we headed towards the rocks. Not five casts into the trip and I look over at dad, who is bowed up bigtime.

"Tailing Redfish"
Dad battled this fish for about 5 minutes and finally landed the 29-inch redfish. His biggest red to date. And he did it in a Native Marvel 12 SINK!

Later that afternoon I had a trip with John Vail from Annapolis, MD. John has traveled to FL, LA, and TX in search of redfish. We opted to fish in Lynnhaven today. After a slow start I followed a tip from Chad Hoover, we got to the hot spot and the action started. I hear John say "fish on" and headed over to capture the action. After a short fight, John lands a nice 20-inch redfish.

John lands about 8 more fish including a nice oversized fish at 27-inches. This day is going in the books as one of the best in 2008, looks like it is only going to get better.

July 19, 2008 Double Header
Had two different trips today, one morning and one afternoon trip. I started out with Paul Berg of Chesapeake, VA and his brother Howard from the Arizona high country. The day started slow but ended RED hot! After some searching we foud a nice pod of Redfish holding around some docks. Paul was the first to hook up, but his fish became undone. I got him rerigged and ready fro round two. Paul immediatly hooks up again and this time gets his fish. Paul's brother Howard want in on th action so we get him rigged up, and almost immediatly he hooks up with another red. The catching continued until it was time to head back.

Round Two
The afternoon session was with Brandon White and Dalton Terrell of Lateral Line. We returned to the spots from the morning trip and I hooked up on the first try. I look over at Dalton and he is hooked up also. We catch a few more reds there and then decide to relocate to another spot. We set up on another flat and Brandon hooks up with a nice redfish. We catch a few more before the day and the water runs out. It was a long but fun day, the fishing is only going to get better. Cant wait until fall!
