Our Guides

Cory is among the most influential kayak anglers on the east coast. He has over 12 years of kayak fishing experience, and has led the charge for kayak anglers in Virginia. He is the founder of the Tidewater Kayak Anglers Association, the Mid-Atlantics biggest kayak fishing club and online community. Cory also started their successful annual charity tournament which in 2009 had a record setting 215 anglers participate. In 2008 he published the book “Kayak Fishing- The Complete Guide” which has been touted as the bible of kayak fishing. His book contains lots of great info and some excellent photography, most which was taken by him. It sold out in less than two years and is currently being revised.
Nationally known as Ruthless, Cory is probably one of the most traveled kayak anglers. He has fished waters from New York City to Texas and all in between. His most recent kayak fishing adventure was along the North Shore of Oahu. Cory is the president of Ruthless Fishing Inc. which offers kayak fishing guide services and instruction in Virginia and North Carolina.
Ruthless is not just a kayak fishing guide, he has a degree in Marine Biology from East Carolina University, and has worked for several environmental agencies. His resume includes time with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Virginia Dept. of Game and Inland Fisheries, Marine Resources Commission, and most recently the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. With VADEQ, Cory is part of a team of specialists that monitor water quality in the Tidewater area of Virginia.

We are proud to have Mark Lozier as a guide at Ruthless Fishing; Mark has brought a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to the business. Mark has been kayak fishing for several years and is the currently acting president of the Tidewater Kayak Anglers Association. He has been fishing the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding waters for 15 years, and is a specialist in stalking out skinny water fish. There is not a better kayak fishing guide in Tidewater Virginia.
